Bruins vs Flyers Pregame Notebook

Writer: Biased BruinsfanBiased Bruinsfan

An afternoon thriller down in Philadelphia will take place between the Boston Bruins and Philadelphia Flyers. Boston is currently on top of the season series with a 7-0-1 handle on it and will be playing the last game tonight. The Bruins will look to put a team hunting for a playoff spot in their rearview mirror and finish the regulation sweep.

Both teams are missing some significant names this afternoon. Bruins starter Tuukka Rask, Defensemen Brandon Carlo, Winger Ondrej Kase, and backup netminder Jaroslav Halak are all out. Bruins Defenseman Charlie McAvoy is questionable but it is more than likely he is out. The Flyers will be without Robert Hagg, Morgan Frost, and Kirill Ustimenko this afternoon.

Flyers, coming off a 4-3 shootout loss to the Islanders will look to get back in the win column. Boston is coming off of a 4-2 win against the Washington Capitals and will look to extend the win streak. My projected lines for this afternoon are:

BOS

Marchand - Bergeron - Smith

Ritchie - Krejci - Pastrnak

Debrusk - Coyle - Kuhlman

Frederic - Kuraly - Wagner

Grzelcyk - Miller

Lauzon - Clifton

Zboril - Kampfer

Swayman

Swayman has been confirmed as the starter and will be backed up by Vladar depending on how Rask feels. Swayman has played two NHL games and has gone 2-0-0. He also has a 2.01 GAA and a .947 Sv%. Carter Hart is the projected starter for the Flyers and he has had himself a season. Hart is 8-10-5, has a 3.88 GAA, and a .873 Sv%. Both teams will have young goaltenders in net and it should be a good game between the pipes.

Tune in on NESN to watch the Bruins and Flyers battle it out in a crucial game for both teams. Only four playoff spots, will the Flyers catch up, and will Boston keep theirs?
